The best hostel in town is the Captains hostel. It's right on the Bund (Very central). It's 50RMB a night for a standard room and it's quite clean. There are plenty of rooms as well so you don't need to worry if you've got no where to stay cuz they've always got room. Also, there is a nice bar on the top floor designed like a ship, but it's not exactly priced for backpacking.^Top
